Milton Keynes based Terry Lancaster returned from the sweltering heat of Portugal with team Gold for England.
Terry has fished for England on many occasions but took great delight on this occasion on winning his first ever team Gold.

Terry said this year has been one of his most memorable in fishing firstly discovering Alders farm fishery, then securing a full sponsorship with Got Baits a company who he has always held in high regard for quality baits.
To cap off the year a Gold medal, what’s next for Terry we asked to start winning more often at Alders the quality of angler is very high so its a new challenge for the ever green angler.

Those of you who have visited the on site shop will have seen the impressive range of sconee floats.
We have persuaded him to pop in on Wednesday 23rd May from 11.00 to meet you all and tell you some of the secrets behind his floats.

Come along and meet the legend that is SCOOOOONNEEE
and pick his brains on floats and float making evryone welcome.

The first of weekly matches start this Tuesday and every Tuesday.

Message*: I fished the match lake on Tuesday 10th with 2 friends. After over 4 hrs fishing all I had caught was 3 small rudd and 1 carp – not a good start.
Around lunchtime 2 gents stopped and asked how we were doing – and one of them (I think was called Trevor) , kindly showed me where I was going wrong – within 15 minutes of his “lesson” I was catching carp. In the next 4hrs I caught over 60lb !! – would have stayed longer bit had to get home.
I believe Trevor is the man behind GOT baits, and I and my friends would like to thank him for making our day all that more pleasurable.

After finishing fishing on day two of the festival Josh decided to have a look on Oaks lake for one of the lakes larger residents.

Josh showed just what a fantastic complex this is going from match fishing to speci hunting in minuets.

Mike Twine came off his beloved carp match fishing and tried his luck at catching one of Oaks lake big Bream.
Under the tuition of “ Dell Boy Smith” mike caught plenty of samples up to 5lb and was rewarded with this 7lb Specimen late on.
Mikes Tactics were simple he fished Corn over a bed of fishery Micro on the pole.
His weight for the session was an estimated 80lb not bad for 5 hours.

If you are fishing any opens or club matches at Alders Farm as from Monday 2nd April you can now order your baits in advance of your match 3 days notice is best.

Maggots are £2.50 per pint and are supplied by one of the best maggot breeders in the country.
Casters and worms can also be ordered but you need to let us know by the beginning of the week

He took the fish from oak lake (specium) caught on a single 18mm mainline grange, with a pva bag with fishery pellet, maize, sweetcorn and boille chops. 40 gram inline lead, on a six 6 hook. Fished at 30 yards with a spray of 14mm grange boilles. The carp was early twenties.
Gary cant wait for his next visit.

Alders farm Fishery are to hold their first ever two day Festival. This years event will take place on Good Friday & Easter Saturday 6th & 7th April 2012

The format will be 44 Anglers taking part over two lakes Match and Silver 22 on Each. The winner will be decided on points and in the case of a tie a weight count back Entry will be £80.00 for the two matches. Payout based on 44 fishing overall placing:

• 1st £700
• 2nd £410
• 3rd £300
• 4th £200
• 5th £150

Plus Daily pools payout. Bookings will be taken on a first to book and the booking will be secured once monies have been paid.

The Kay twins have arrived at Alders, this weekend saw George and Tony both win their lakes sending out a message they are not to be messed with.

George won Ash Lake with a very creditable 78lb 11oz
while the younger Tony won the Pines Lake with 49lb 8oz
sending a warning to their rivals this is now our turf.

Got Baits captain Gary Thorpe found himself starring down the barrel of disqualification with an half hour to go so he stopped fishing rather than be disqualified. With the fishery net rule being no more than 100lb per net, Gary started to worry as he approached the 90 fish mark 30 per net. Not thinking that he would need that sort of weight to win he only brought 3 nets with him. Knowing nobody gets away with the rule he just stopped fishing hoping that what he had would be enough to win.

Above picture showing Gaz relaxing whats going on This still didn’t stop him taking top spot just ahead of Tony Wynock.

After the match Gary said I have no problem with the rule its been introduced with the agreement of all the matchmen who fish here and its been implemented to protect the fish stocks and that’s why Alders is so good

The new head of fish are settling down and when Gary Thorpe was offered the chance to have a go at catching the latest additions he jumped at the chance.

Putting together this fine 65lb of Skimmers and Bream and of course the Tench Gary said he cant wait for the first open match on the water.

Alders Farm Owner, Gary has decided to add an on Site Shop at the fishery.

The shop will stock top brands of Tackle & Baits and also offer fresh baits, Maggots, Casters worms etc.

The shop is scheduled to open April 2012.

This will enable the customer to purchase the things you may have forgotten to bring with you.
