With the fish in spawning mood and a combination of high winds and an awful weeks weather, it was always going to be a tough match. Yet again the match was a sell out and on reflection it didn't fish that badly given that the top 8 could only be separated by 20lb - about 8 fish in the current going rate at Alders!
Ian Higgins on a rare outing due to family commitments showed he hasn't lost any of his angling prowess by skillfully winning with a fine Ton plus weight on a very hard day.
