With yet another sell out and more on the waiting list the match organiser was under pressure to put in pegs that some anglers had even given up on before they drew them.
Their fears were unfounded as carp showed all around the lake showing that the fishery is one of the fairest around, the top rod was once again the inform Barry Mason ( Ringer Baits) who led the way from peg 28 fishing the straight lead and bread for the best weight of the year so far a fantastic 203lb 12oz
Runner up Dr Josh Blavins ( Got Baits) with another brilliant weight 128lb 7oz who fished Atomic maggot in a feeder.
Filling the final placing is the ever green Mal Talbot 111lb 11oz ( Got Baits) Mal has returned to fishing after an illustrious career at the highest level of fishing and within the media both tv and writing.

With so many wanting to take part in this open it was decided to put both lakes in.
First time visitor to the Venue Roger young drew the inform area and with the regulars all drawing away from the noted pegs it was going to be anybodies match.
He started fishing the pole at 11m and was soon into fish amassing a fantastic 168lb well done Roger great display.
George Kay found himself in the same section and returned 134lb fishing the wag and pole.

With the hot pegs being drawn by local experts everyone thought the contest was over.
Mark Brown on peg 15 had over ideas and showed the chasing pack a clean pair of heals as he stormed to victory.
Fishing 16m to the bush with pellet and corn caught steady all day to returned a fantastic 105lb on a very difficult day.

The milder weather had everyone looking forward to a little extra sport up on pines lake.
Nick darke fished the pole at 14.5 m and caught 200 small fish to take first place.
Barry mason finished second followed by the happiest angler out there smiler.

The site of a frozen lake welcomed the sell out field
to this open event on Ash lake, and whilst some had doubts the match would go ahead match organiser Trevor Price and his business partner Gary Thorpe showed exactly why Alders has the reputation it has as a match water.
After two hours out on a boat they got the lake ready for the event and Barry Mason continued his fine form with a resounding win from peg 6.
Gary Page found himself on peg 4 again and showed his familiarity of the peg to take second place.
Third and stuck in the middle of Gary and Barry was Tony taylor.

The winter hit the December open on Pines Lake with a vengeance anglers booked in to this fixture couldn’t believe it when they turned up to see all the lakes frozen.
Not to be deterred Match organiser Trev Price got out in the boat and broke the ice making sure the fixture went ahead, with some wondering would they even get a bite.
The Alders fish try never to disappoint and responded with nearly every angler catching over 40lb. Barry Mason (Ringers Baits) used his loaf and caught 136lb on bread punch on the bomb to take top spot just ahead of his team mate Adam Waverley who weighed 114llb. Mick McMillan (aka Draw bag Picasso) once again drew the flyer peg 16 but could only manage 3rd just ahead of Trev Price in 4th.

Open Match – Pines Silver Lake
The silver lake open drew another quality field and as usual sold out. The feeling amongst the anglers was you needed to draw between 15 and 20 to get amongst the fish and this would be where you would have the best chance of getting in the frame..
